"As a teacher, I have spent nearly a decade helping families and children achieve a better quality of life. Now, I want to serve our community in the Nevada State Legislature." - Olivia Diaz
Economic recovery - I am committed to getting people back to work, reducing foreclosures, and encouraging economic growth. We must continue efforts to fund road and building projects and provide incentives for renewable energy development that would create new jobs in Nevada. I will also work to help make Nevada a manufacturing, distribution and transportation hub.

Health care - Like so many, I worry about my parents as they get older. We must continue to find ways to improve access to affordable, quality health care-- for families and for our children and senior citizens.
Improving education - As a classroom teacher for nearly a decade, I understand the importance of making a real commitment to education and helping every student reach his or her potential. We must work to keep classes small, and offer solid academic programs as well as career and technical education opportunities.
Government efficiency and accountability - In these challenging times, it is clear that our state needs more long-term planning by state agencies, increased transparency and accountability for state spending and better procedures to collect unpaid taxes.
